What happens if the geek squad finds pirated material on your personal computer. Is there a fine incurred?
Q. If I have pirated data on my PC, and I call in the geek squad for a repair, will their be a fine incurred on me if they find the pirated material, or will I have to pay for the pirated material in any way.

Can geek squad replace a cracked iPod touch screen?
Q. My friend cracked my iPod Touch screen. The iPod still works perfectly fine, but its a really big, ugly crack in the screen. It seems totally replaceable, especially since it's external and still works fine. So is it replaceable and can Geek Squad do it? If so, how much will it cost? And if not, is there a place that CAN replace it?

A. The main points are general phone support and a replacement warranty against failure. That may cover accidental damage too if you bought that as an option. The other points are not worth having IMHO. Their performance analysis and security service are very much one-size-fits-all off-the shelf solutions regardless of whether they are best for you, and they will attempt to sell you stuff at every opportunity if you use those services. Added to that I have fundamental concerns about the competence of many of the geeks: they do not pay much by industry standards and some of the ones I have encountered have basic misconceptions.

A. Nope. Red Ring is a motherboard or processor failure. Geek Squad usually replaces components and that's on computers that use a GUI based operating system. I doubt any Geek Squad guys have the equipment to analyze the OS on an XBOX, or know what they're looking at.

What credentials do I need to join the Geek Squad?
Q. I know computers inside and out, I've been a professional technician (electronics, communication) for the past seven years, I've had A+ training (haven't taken the test yet though), I'm used to dealing with customers in their homes, and I have good people skills. A. They could. More than you need to pay. Try this first. Your router settings and your PSP wireless settings must match exactly. Specifically, before you configure your PSP setup, you need to look at your router's wireless settings and find the SSID, the encryption mode (like WEP or WPA, etc), and the encryption/shared key. Write them down. Then you can use those items to configure your PSP setup to the internet. If you go to your router manufacturer's website, you'll find easy instuctions on how to access the router settings. Failing that, you could always try to find some high school kid to do it for you for $10. Good luck!

A. Hi I just had my Geek Squad interview recently and found out today that i got the job. The interviewer took my resume which i gave him and he started to ask me questions about my past workplaces. When he was done asking me introductory questions he started asking me computer related questions. For example he asked me if i knew what IRQ's were, if i knew how to connect an internet modem, set-up a TV, and know how to work with computers and wireless networking. After those questions were done he gave me questions like "What would you say if a customer came to you and asked you... " etc. Thats pretty much the interview

Q. a customer has an important business file on his windows 2000 machine that has boot problems. he can gain access to the drive using a Start disk. However, when he views the disk from the command line, he cannot find the FutureBuisinessPlansandMa rketing.doc file. he has asked the local Geek Squad agents to help him locate the file because he must give a presentation based on it in 1 hour. when you view the drive, there ae literally several hundreds of files on the drive.

associates degree in computer science is from 1989 and i want to use it. i currently work for the geek squad?
