The Geek Code is a series of letters and symbols used by self-described "geeks" to inform fellow geeks about their personality, appearance, interests, and opinions. The idea is that everything that makes a geek individual and different from all the other geeks in the world can be written down (encoded) in this very compact format. Then other geeks can read the geek code and work back from that to discover what the writer looks like, what interests s/he has, and so forth. This is deemed to be efficient in some sufficiently geeky manner.

Once created, geeks can use their geek codes anywhere they please. Previous places include emails, websites, letters, art, programming language comments, and even T-shirts. Nowadays, personal websites are the most common breeding ground, particularly any "about me" sections.

How could I put a comment box on my webpage?
Q. I want a comment box for my webpage and, if possible, give me only the codes... I'm no computer geek so please explain it as easy and as smooth as possible.

A. You need more than just "codes." To do a comment box you need a database and some kind of script that can react to it say hitting the submit button (I believe a PHP script could potentially do it). But this is going far beyond just HTML and CSS. You're going to be implementing scripts and databases. So first off I would find out what types my web host can use. There's likely more than one type of script out there that can do this job. So you need to know which scripts your web host will actually run (often they won't run every type out there). Just contact your customer support and they should be able to tell you (or look through the description of the service online, it should say as well). Here's a tutorial for making a shoutbox ( [cont.]

How do you creat a unique MySpace layout in the new format?
Q. Hey I love a ton of layouts but they are a hassel to find. How do I create my very own one of a kind layout? I don't want links to places that will make me one, I want the code so I can write my own (yes I am a computer geek and will do it) This is really important to me! Thanks!!

A. It's a little difficult to create your own layout because...well frankly...the MySpace coding SUCKS! It drives me insane sometimes. I wish W3C would come and raid them or something :P I would suggest using layouts and making changes to them to figure out which piece code does what. MySpace code is like a whole new mark-up language :-\
