How do conventions position the reader to interpret a text?
Q. After reading a text, how can you recognize the conventions used by the wriiter to position you to interpret his issue in a certain way???

If the writer has stepped outside the realms of what might be considered 'acceptable social behaviour or thinking', then you would easily interpret his/her views as unconventional, in which case you might disagree and can then put forth a reasonable argument. But then again, you might think they are highly original and wish to praise their originality. You first have to recognise the difference between conventional and unconventional. Take it from there. Your own interpretation must be based on 'why' you think conventions misrepresent or distort or influence. It could be because you believe that in "Most" cases, people think a certain way...then back that up with some fact - could it be that "convention" (social acceptance of a certain… [cont.]

How many political conventions have you observed where presidential nominees were being chosen.?
Q. This years will bring my total up to 28 presidential conventions. Most people seem unaware that the candidate that gets the most votes on the first poll of the states is the one who ends up with the nomination unless major influence peddling takes place in the back rooms. With the strong ABC feelings (anybody but Clinton) among most Republicans and more than half the Democrats, there is only one person the Democrats can nominate without commiting political suicide in November.
