Do the subculture "Goths" have any relation to the Goths in the 3-4th century?
Q. Just a bit curious about this. Of course they seem totally different, but is there any relation whatsoever in why the subculture called themselves goths, from the goths in history? What about a step further back then, did "Gothic" horror have anything relating to goths?

Why do people refuse to acknowledge gay culture and that there's more to being gay then attraction?
Q. I've heard this many time before and it goes something like "being gay is just an attraction and nothing else" ignoring that there is an entire subculture built around their sexuality and a history of oppression that helped formed it. You don't have to identify with the popular aspects of the popular and stereotyped parts of the culture (like clubbing and the circuit) but to refusing to pretend it doesn't exist is lying to yourself and whoever you're telling this to. Being someone that's both black and gay I can see the similarities in the two. Like I realize Hip Hop is popular in black culture right now even though I don't identify with it I'm not going to say it has nothing to do with being black at all. What's so "wow" about my… [cont.]
