what would be a good "american" topic to write a research paper on?
Q. Hi there, i need help to find a good american topic with preferably many different kinds of resources (books, magazines, newspapers, etc) to write a research paper. can you please help? these were the instructions: pick something American for a topic to research. this might be somethign having to do with american culture, subcultures, history, medicine, science, sports, art suck as music or lit., economics, or the judicial system. my teacher gave us an example: a more focused paper topic would be something like: what was the psycological effects the chicago "Blacksocks" of 1919 had on the post Great War American psyche. thank you to anyone that tries! and 10 points to best topic!! please! thank you again!

A. you could pick a famous landmark and what kind of contributions it's made. Say, the hoover dam, it's history, as a source of energy... It's a really broad catagory, so if you don't like any of the answers you get, pick something you have an interest in. Trust me, it'll make writing the paper a lot less tiresome.

A. Hey, a motorcycle is just another form of transportation. I like the freedom I have in riding mine. And I don't like people who ask me personal questions...what's your address? English as the national language, introduce regional secondary languages?
Q. I've just been playing with ideas here, but I wanted to bounce it off you guys though. I was thinking if English was made as the official/national language (meaning its mandatory), then there should be less chances of suffering consequences from strong secondary languages. Most of the language options in the US in high school were either spanish or french. With that in mind I wanted to construct regionalism in that certain region (one or several states) would focus on a specific language, history, etc. Being a subculture and submissive under the Universal American culture. A. We are becoming a more global community. It is a good idea to learn a second language to communicate with others but it shouldn't have to be required. Other languages are not a direct substitution for English words. Dwayne leave me alone for this lol - Our national governments have these liberals that seem to think socialism is great and are trying very hard to gain the foreign vote, it's somewhat a scheme. Dwayne :) lol
