Got Blue screen of death and parental controls are blocking me from using antispyware?
Q. Every time I try to get anti spyware, the parental controls pop up a password request to run the anti spyware. The password is the same thing as the VPN, which I don't know. Any ideas on how to get the VPN or turn off parental controls while they're used on my account so I don't get the blue screen of death again?

A. You could try updating the BIOS, as it could be a BIOS issue... Gigabyte has excellent BIOS flashes: But first make sure the memory you bought is DDR 266MHz, although slightly faster DDR might be supported through downclocking. And if it is, test out one module at a time in each different DIMM, and if you determine the RAM or motherboard is defective, you can probably RMA it.

A. The Windows operating system constantly refers to the registry to get information about all of the components such as hardware and software which are installed on the computer. The registry tells Windows what to do and how to access the various programs, files, and processes. However, the registry can contain bad information which sends Windows off doing useless tasks or running unneeded routines. Sometimes errors occur including the blue screen of death. Other times the system slows down. Because of the sheer number of factors that can affect the registry, there s no one size fits all approach. You can t just go into the registry and remove the bad information because it s nearly impossible to decipher which information is good and which… [cont.]

A. love the fact that you call it blue screen of death, That was always my super pro term for it. Does your computer start up at all? Can you get to the desktop view? Try rebooting and starting in safe mode. If you think Itunes is crashing the system then from the safe mode you should be able to uninstall itunes and try rebooting in standard mode. If all else fails... Re-format.

A. The blue screen of death, also known as the blue screen of doom or simply blue screen, is one of the most notorious error messages in Windows based operating systems. To fix blue screen errors, you can safely assume that there's something going seriously wrong in your operating system. Unfortunately for us, and even the highest trained computer technicians, fixing the blue screen of death isn't always as simple as we'd like it to be, and it can take an obscure amount of PC knowledge to get to the root of the problem. 90% registry cleaner can fix the blue screen. <--

A. BSOD is a slang expression for a WIndows error screen that displays serious errors that require a restart of the OS. It is present in all versions of Windows, but is no longer obvious to many people because the default setting in Windows now is to "automatically restart on error" so people don't see the BSOD anymore. I seriously suggest that everyone change that setting so you can see and diagnose any errors in your system. 0x00073: 0x0007B: Now most BSOD's have many possible causes but this one based on the skimpy information you have presented smells like GOW tried to install a device driver for the purposes of copy protection and most likely this was designed for XP and has mangled your Vista a bit. You should search around on… [cont.]

A. Every Blue Screen of Death contains unique information that explains what went wrong. There are many different kinds of BSOD issues possible in Windows, many with very different causes. Almost every single BSOD issue, however, is a hardware or driver issue, making the list of troubleshooting steps fairly much the same from error to error. If blue screen meassages error flashes by too fast do one of the following: Disable automatic restart on system failure. This should help by allowing time to write down the STOP code properly. Right click on the My Computer icon on the Desktop and select Properties, Advanced, Start-Up and Recovery, System Failure and uncheck box before Automatically Restart. An alternative is to keep pressing the F8… [cont.]

A. if it's only while playing games I'd be guessing that your Graphics card is letting you down ... could be the actual card or just a driver issue ... first thing is to start playing with drivers ... install the latest, if that doesn't work install an older version ... still no joy? ... change cards
